In this unit the students will study and extend their knowledge of one of the fundamental types of energy – electricity. They will learn about the different properties of electricity and its practical applications: how we use electricity and how we apply this energy in everyday life. Simple experiments, in which the students can observe the characteristics of electricity, will help the students understand the nature of this type of energy.
The students will be able to explain their conclusions, verbally and in writing, on how electricity functions. The students will focus on the properties of electricity and how it is produced, and then they will look at its influence in the last 200 years and how we have become reliant on this type of energy today.
